Dear Colleagues,
I am very sorry to report the passing of Emeritus Professor of Art Wesley Chapman.
Born and raised in Montana, Dr. Chapman earned his Bachelor degree from Northern Arizona University and his master’s degree and doctorate from the University of Oregon. He joined the faculty here in 1970, and in 1975 he was instrumental in establishing SOU’s photography program. His artwork was included in various local, regional, and national juried art and photography exhibitions, and throughout his career he was an active participant in campus governance as a department chair and a member of several campus-wide committees before his retirement in 2002.
We do not have any information at this time regarding plans for a memorial service.
