St. Luke’s CDC and Literacy

What was the last good book you read?  At the preschool, we read all day long!  In the classrooms, there is a morning message of the day.  There is a word wall or vocabulary list that is added to during the week.  Even our youngest students work on their literacy skills.  We offer parents the opportunity to purchase books through Scholastic to encourage reading at home.  Over the summer, keeping up reading skills can include searching for letters on items in the grocery store.  On a car trip, playing word rhyming games or letter sound games are great ways to keep up the skills learned during the year.
