Central Florida’s Arts, Theme Park, and Entertainment Community Needs Our Help

In the Spring of 2020, the entertainment industry came to a screeching halt.  This was particularly impactful in Central Florida, where theatres and theme park shows went dark affecting the livelihood of tens of thousands within the local arts community including performers, musicians, costumers, designers, characters, technicians, entertainment management, and their families.

Who We Are…

Supporting HEARTS is an outreach initiative through the non-profit St. Luke’s United Methodist Church. Supporting HEARTS was established with the mission to help distribute food and meals to all of the incredible members of the Central Florida arts community who have made bringing joy and entertainment their life’s work. It is now our turn to play a part in bringing smiles to their faces.

Community Impact…

Supporting HEARTS has been facilitating a weekly drive-up food distribution event in partnership with local businesses and thanks to generous donations. Each week hundreds of households throughout four counties are provided with produce, prepped meals, and bread goods depending on availability. This need in the arts community will continue and we need your help to continue these efforts into 2021.

How You Can Help…

Every donation, no matter how big or small makes a difference in the lives of our neighbors. One prepped meal costs $3.50, and $14 can provide a meal for a family of four.

If you’d like to make a one-time donation, click the button below to visit our donation page. Alternatively, we invite you to consider becoming a sponsor. Click here to request sponsorship information.

In response to the current public health crisis and its impact on our community, St. Luke’s UMC and Cheers Bar and Restaurant have joined forces to help one of the hardest-hit communities – artists and entertainment industry professionals.

Together, these partners will be hosting a drive-thru food distribution on:

Date/Time: Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Location: St. Luke’s campus (4851 S. Apopoka-Vineland Rd. Orlando, FL 32819)

All food will be prepared and distributed according to Department of Health and CDC guidelines.

St. Luke’s depends on the generosity of community partners and agencies to provide produce for weekly arts community food distribution. We are working diligently to provide this free service to those in our community. Last minute changes may be unavoidable so we appreciate your grace and patience as our team works with a vast network of food providers.

The free food is available to anyone in the arts community, including performers, musicians, costumers, designers, characters, technicians, entertainment management, and more.
