CEO of Mixhalo, John Vars, presents "Mixhalo: Unrivaled, Immersive Audio Experiences At Live Events.” By leveraging its patented, ultra-low latency technology, Mixhalo delivers pristine soundboard mixes at concerts, undelayed play-by-play broadcasts at live sporting events, and clear conference audio to fans and event attendees in real time. John tells us the founding story of how professional musicians and founders, Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger and internationally-acclaimed violinist Ann Marie Simpson, had the original epiphany, and he discusses the challenges of inventing a new technology, bringing in A-List investors and clients, and all the ups and downs along the way.

“What Makes Audio Equipment for TV & Film Production Unique” with Peter Schneider, founder and co-owner of Gotham Sound. Peter discusses the unique equipment requirements and workflows used in recording sound on set for film and TV productions. Topics covered include equipment electrical and mechanical specifications, ergonomics, as well what makes film and TV sets different from other media and entertainment workplaces.

Hannah Brodrick, co-founder of Women in Live Music presents "How to attract and retain a gender-balanced workforce in the live audio industry." Women currently only represent between 5-10% of all audio engineers in the UK and US and there are many common misconceptions as to why. Hannah discusses the causes of this lack of diversity and what we can do to achieve a more balanced future for live audio.

PAMA BOARD MEETING AND SHURE FACILITY TOUR | JULY 14, 2022

PAMA had the opportunity to visit Shure Incorporated headquarters in downtown Chicago and their facility in Niles where we got a "behind the scenes" tour of the archives including the famous Unidyne microphones. We even visited Wrigley Field for a baseball game. Although the Cubs didn't win, we all had a great time. Thank you Shure and Chicago for your hospitality!

He has nearly 40 years in the pro audio industry as a sound engineer, radio microphone expert and a director with commercial and practical experience across system design, rentals, sales, installations and business management.

This session explored the changing landscape of spatial audio, new technologies and live events. Duncan discussed the growing drivers behind immersive experiences, how technology has caught up to help deliver the creative vision and how exploring 5G technology can help change the shape of events , as shown by the 5G Festival.

2021 Economy - Road to a new normal?

PAMA welcomed Chuck Wilson and Dr. Chris Kuehl to our meeting on Friday, December 18, 2020.

Dr. Chris Kuehl provided a forecast for the economic recovery post-COVID, thoughts on the long-term effect of work-from-home policies, and the impact of the pandemic on various manufacturing sectors. Joining Dr. Kuehl was Chuck Wilson, longtime executive director for NSCA, who provided datapoints based upon the system integrators recovery progress and shared the technology solutions most in demand heading into next year.
