Lansing man dies after Johnson Avenue shooting, police search for suspect

LANSING – Police are still searching for the suspect in Johnson Avenue shooting that left a 19-year-old man dead.

Dhanthan Amadi-Devoe Boggan Jr. died after he was shot during an argument Wednesday afternoon in the 900 block of Johnson Avenue. After the shooting, Boggan was transported to a hospital and later died from his injuries.

The suspect is a black man in his 20s, police said. Police searched the area after the shooting but have still not located the man.

The investigation continues and police are still following up on leads, interviewing potential witnesses and gathering evidence.

Police say the shooting stemmed from an argument and after Boggan was shot, the suspect and other individuals fled the scene.

Police responded to a report of shots fired at 2:40 p.m. but did not find any victim at the scene.
