Student Psychological Services is offering TimelyCare, a teletherapy service that offers licensed providers to support your mental health. TimelyCare offers:

  • No cost, on-demand support available 24/7;
  • Support from counselors via phone or secure video platform;
  • Service care options from a licensed mental health professional include individual and consultations from your smartphone or any web-enabled device. 

What is SPS TimelyCare?

TimelyCare, a teletherapy program available to LMU students, delivers access to 24/7 mental virtual health care from anywhere in the U.S., at no cost. Whether you're anxious or overwhelmed, you will be able to talk to a licensed provider from your smartphone or any web-enabled device.

FAQs on TimelyCare

  • TimelyCare is available to all currently enrolled full-time and part-time LMU students, including undergraduate, graduate, and LMU Law School. This service is not available for staff and faculty.

  • TimelyCare services are at no cost to all enrolled LMU students.

  • There is no right or wrong option. Both in-person and virtual, SPS offerings are equipped to meet a variety of mental and emotional health needs. if needed. TimelyCare offers both evening and weekend appointments, which may be a good option for students who would like access to a mental health professional outside of SPS office hours.

  • In-person and virtual offerings from SPS are similar. Each of these options gives students an opportunity to initiate mental health services at no additional cost to them. Students who initiate ongoing scheduled counseling sessions through TimelyCare will be seen by licensed mental health professionals.   

    Some differences include:   

    • All TimelyCare services are provided remotely via video or phone.
    • SPS In-person appointments are offered during business hours, call 310.338.2868 to schedule an appointment.
    •   (SPS does not currently have a psychiatrist)
    • SPS in-person appointments are offered:
      • Monday and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
      • Wednesday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
      • Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • TimelyCare’s scheduled counseling appointments are available days, evenings, and weekends.
  • In case of an urgent concern during business hours, all SPS at 310.338.2868, or come to the office for a rapid response consultation. To access a therapist after 5 p.m., call 310.338.2893 and follow the prompt. For off-campus emergencies, call 911.

  • TimelyCare is confidential. As part of your agreement to the Terms of Service when you register your account, your records will be shared with licensed medical providers and therapists  at LMU. If you want to share your records with a physician outside of TimelyCare, you can print or email your records, or call 833.4.TIMELY to send a copy of your records to your provider.

  • No. Insurance information will not be provided to TimelyCare.
