Register to vote in your home state

Registration requirements and deadlines vary by state. The U.S. Vote Foundation has compiled that information here.

TurboVote makes voting easy through a simultaneous online voter registration and ballot request process that takes minutes to complete. This tool helps manage voter registration deadlines and provides election reminders for all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Note: Completing the online portion of TurboVote does not complete your registration. You must also complete the necessary steps to mail in the form created via TurboVote.

How do I vote out of state?

After registering in your home state, if you wish to vote in person, check with your home jurisdiction’s Board of Elections. If you wish to vote via absentee ballot, you must request an absentee ballot by the deadline for your state. Click your state on this page to request an absentee ballot.

Be sure to research your state’s absentee ballot deadlines–for requesting one, as well as for submitting one. If you want your absentee vote to count, you are encouraged to apply as early as possible to help ensure you receive and submit your ballot well before your state’s deadlines. Review your state’s absentee ballot deadlines here.
