WINTER Programs: January 22, 2024 - March 28, 2024*

Franco-Fun programs are for French Second Language (FSL) Ontario students in Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8 in French Immersion, Extended French Immersion, and Core French.
There will be NO programming during the following two weeks:

*Reading Week at York University:
Monday, February 19 (Family Day) – Friday, February 23, 2024.

*March Break for Schools:
Monday, March 11 – Friday, March 15, 2024.

Students will participate in fun, interactive games and activities, and chat with new friends while building their French communication skills. An effort will be made to place students in groups of 8-12 based on their grade and FSL program.

Important Note:

All programs are held on Zoom, links will be emailed the week prior to the start of the session
Sessions are not held on statutory holidays
To give children an equal opportunity to register, only one program per child will be permitted

Expectations for Participants:

Arrive 5 minutes early
Ensure participants have access to the provided email address to receive important correspondence
Everyone is expected to fully participate in activities in each session
Children that distract or interfere with the success of the Zoom sessions will be muted or removed
The camera needs to be turned on with your child’s accurate name on Zoom

Franco-Fun really was a fun way for my daughter to learn more vocabulary in French and have a chance to meet some new people. It brought a change to daily online learning that has lost its lustre.

The Franco-Fun program was an engaging way for my child to socialize with other children in French. Even though she is usually quite shy to speak French, she was gently encouraged through a variety of interactive activities which she enjoyed. My child really looked forward to the class every week - she kept saying how fun it was.

The CPF Programs are AMAZING in encouraging the kids to gain confidence in the French language. My kids have had the privilege to participate in several of the programs offered, and every single time we have been SUPER satisfied with the program and their results. The volunteer tutors have found their way to approach my kids' different learning preferences and managed to engage them in communicating in French at their own pace.
