WINTER Programs: January 22, 2024 - March 28, 2024*

Reading Circle / Cercle de lecture is a virtual French Learning program for French Second Language (FSL) Ontario students in Senior Kindergarten to Grade 8 in French Immersion, Extended French Immersion, and Core French.
There will be NO programming during the following two weeks:

*Reading Week at York University:
Monday, February 19 (Family Day) – Friday, February 23, 2024.

*March Break for Schools:
Monday, March 11 – Friday, March 15, 2024.

Students will participate in a shared reading experience with discussion and some written exercises.

We acknowledge that this program is funded by the Government of Canada.

Important Note:

All programs are held on Zoom, links will be emailed the week prior to the start of the session
Sessions are not held on statutory holidays
To give children an equal opportunity to register, only one program per child will be permitted

Expectations for Participants:

Arrive 5 minutes early
Ensure your child has access to the provided email address to receive important correspondence
Everyone is expected to fully participate in activities in each session
Children that distract or interfere with the success of the Zoom sessions will be muted or removed
The camera needs to be turned on with your child’s accurate name on Zoom

The ‘French Reading Circle’ was a great way for my son to expand on his current French reading, speaking, and comprehension skills. He also had the opportunity to socialize with others his age who spoke in French. Programs like these are as rare as a beautiful diamond. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity because it's much appreciated in these hard times :)

This program was the perfect amount of daily practice in a fun manner with a group of unfamiliar students. The environment created by the teacher allowed for the students to feel comfortable speaking French even though they didn't know each other! It was fantastic!"
