Song Premiere: Hear a Track From the Late Joey Feek’s Solo Debut

Fans of country music duo Joey + Rory — and those familiar with the touching and tragic story of the couple’s relationship — will be excited to hear that the late Joey Feek’s solo album debut will be released on April 7.

Titled If Not for You, the set was recorded in 2005 and produced by husband Rory Feek. Though put together years before the duo would achieve widespread success, the songs and their lyrics speak volumes about the woman whose life touched the hearts of millions.

Yahoo Music is pleased to debut a song from the collection, “See You There,” which gives a glimpse into Joey’s mind at the time. “The lyrics of this record made it clear who she was and who she wanted to be,” Rory writes in the album’s booklet. “Yes, her voice might have changed a bit in time, but her character was already rock-solid.”

The couple captured the hearts of many with their faith-filled approach to Joey’s cancer battle and preparation for her passing in March 2016, though they had been married just three years when this album was recorded. Rory Feek accepted a Grammy Award in February for the couple’s last album together, Hymns.
