Things to Consider Week 1

The week of April 1st, it will be important to go into the system and start exploring the applications within the system. You should start familiarizing yourself with the appearance and functionality. While looking around, check to make sure your personal information is accurate (see Day 1 checklist).

If you have any financial transactions that have been carried over from Banner, B-Buy or Concur, please don’t enter them in all at once. We ask where possible that you defer the processing of financial transactions until Wednesday April 4th.  Once you are ready, please stagger the entry of your transactions starting with some very basic transactions which will assist you in learning the process while also being helpful to the Workday team in validating the system.

It’s important to note the launch of Workday does not mean the end of training opportunities or your ability to get help.  If you encounter something which you are unsure about or doesn’t seem to be working, you have many options for assistance. You can call the “7’s”, visit the walk-up help desk in Bertrand Library, stop by at one of our mobile set up stations (see below), submit a ticket through the service catalog, or check out our numerous FAQs and job aids.

As Workday arrives, our colleagues at the Tech Desk are going to have some “Set up Workday on Your Mobile Device” walk up stations. This way we can make sure everyone has a passcode on their device and we can help you get the mobile app set up:

  • Monday 2 April; 12:30-2:30 pm; Academic West First Floor Lobby
  • Monday 2 April; 5:00pm-7:00pm at the Tech Desk in the Library
  • Tuesday 3 April 10:00 am-12:00 pm; Graham Building Lobby
  • Wednesday 4 April 9:30-11:00 am; Walls Lounge (immediately following Staff Forum)

The above sessions will be “Drop In” meaning that you can just come in anytime.  We’ll have Tech Support staff on hand to help you get the app installed, check to make sure devices are connecting to the Bucknell.edu network, and have appropriate security lock. Workday provides mobile apps for:

  • iPad and iPhone devices running iOS 10 or later.
  • Devices running Android 5.0 or higher.

You can also use a supported mobile browser to access the Workday browser application.

We’ll also have assistance available at our daily Tech Table (the “7’s on the go”)in the LC Mall (Mon-Fri 11:00am-1:00pm)

All other times, you can stop by the Tech Desk in the Library for assistance.
