Galloway, N.J. – Stockton University senior
Dante Poli (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South) was named to the
USILA Preseason All-America Second Team by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association. The honor was the third of the preseason for Poli.
He previously was selected to the USA Lacrosse Magazine Preseason All-America Third Team and the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-America Fourth Team. Poli will lead Stockton into the Coastal Lacrosse Conference in the new league's inaugural season.
Poli will begin the 2023 season third all-time at Stockton in goals (154), assists (124) and points (278). He needs just 14 assists to become the program's career leader, and he is likely to join teammate
Luc Swedlund as the only two Stockton players ever to reach the 300-point mark.
Following the 2022 season, Poli was voted to the USILA/Dynamic All-America Second Team, becoming the first Osprey ever to be selected to one of the three USILA All-America teams that are above Honorable Mention. He finished eighth in the nation in assists (3.40/game) and also was chosen CSAC Player of the Year last spring.
During his career, Poli has helped Stockton win two CSAC championships and reach the second round of the NCAA Tournament twice. His 56 games as an Osprey have come across two full seasons (2019, 2022) and two campaigns that were shortened due to COVID (6 games in 2020, 9 games in 2021).
