Summer jobs with Parks & Rec
Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is hiring for eight seasonal positions:
- Lifeguard: Spend your summer on the pool deck, keeping swimmers safe and engaging your community. Parks & Rec will train you, and will cover lifeguard certification fees for anyone ages 16-24. Start the process today.
- Pool Maintenance Attendant: Be part of the team working around the clock to keep public pools safe, clean, and ready to use. To apply, email your resume to annemarie.dunne@phila.gov.
- Recreation Program Assistant: Work at various recreation centers in a specified area of the city to provide summer programming support to site supervisors. Transportation not provided. To apply, email your resume to annemarie.dunne@phila.gov.
- Camp Counselor: Work at a neighborhood day camp, organizing safe, fun activities for young people ages 6 -12. To apply, email your resume to annemarie.dunne@phila.gov.

- Seasonal Maintenance Attendant: Take care of Philadelphia’s neighborhood parks doing turf and grounds maintenance work. Join the team ensuring parks and recreation grounds are always clean, well maintained and ready for visitors. - Literacy Associate: Spend your summer encouraging a love of playful learning in Philadelphia youth! Candidates will plan and schedule literacy-based recreational activities at Parks & Rec day camps. - PlayMobile Associate: Drive a PlayMobile full of playful learning tools for children to various PlayStreets blocks and set up playful learning pop-up recreation activities.
