Dear Cypress College Community,
There will be a general Q&A open to the public held
on the grass near the campanile from 12:30-1:30 followed by a book signing, and a
three additional workshops led by the author in the CCCPLX room 414. The workshops will consist of the following:
- Writing About Trauma (10:45A-11:45A): This will be an empowering workshop guiding students gently through the process of writing about trauma.
- What is Memoir? (2:15P-3:15P): This workshop will be focused on the creative approaches one can take when writing memoir and non-fiction including how to write a scene and how to structure a narrative.
- Faculty Workshop (Faculty Only) (3:30P-4:30P): A workshop on how to bring a heart-centered, trauma informed approached to the classroom.
Here are the
first three chapters of
When I Was Her Daughter available online. (Note: reading the book is not necessary in advance of the event)
