Day 1 Stress Busters

SUNY New Paltz #SkillstoChill Spring 2022 Brought to you by the NP PCC

1. Set a daily schedule
(Work, play, rest, and self care)

Balance is essential for productivity and performance. Decompression time will help you do and feel your best.

Day 2 Stress Busters

SUNY New Paltz #SkillstoChill Spring 2022 Brought to you by the NP PCC

2. Sleep
(Approximately the same bed time and wake up time)

Try for 7-9 hours of sleep. If you must pull an all-nighter, get back to your regular sleep schedule ASAP. Ease into your day with a morning routine and wind down before bed for restful sleep.

Day 3 Stress Busters

SUNY New Paltz #SkillstoChill Spring 2022 Brought to you by the NP PCC

3. Regular Meals & Healthy Nutrition
(Think of the body as a furnace)

Our bodies need regular fuel and quality nutrition for a steady strong burn. Avoid relying on bursts of energy through sugar and caffeine. They burn out quickly leaving the body more depleted.

Day 4 Stress Busters

SUNY New Paltz #SkillstoChill Spring 2022 Brought to you by the NP PCC

4. Hydrate
(Drink water throughout the day)

Have a bottle of water with you at all times. Try adding lemon or other fruit for flavor. Try drinking water instead of a caffeinated beverage for energy. Shoot for about 60 fluid oz of water a day.

Day 5 Stress Busters

SUNY New Paltz #SkillstoChill Spring 2022 Brought to you by the NP PCC

5. Exercise & Movement
(Great for the body and mind)

One of the quickest ways to regulate your systems and "move" towards balance and health. It strengthens while releasing tension. It requires a focused attention which quiets our anxiety.
