Galloway, N.J. – Thirteen of the 16 players on the Stockton University field hockey team qualified for the
NFHCA Division III National Academic Squad by posting cumulative grade point averages of 3.30 or higher through the Fall 2020 semester.
The list of Osprey qualifiers was topped by seniors
Casey Cordonna (Barrington/Haddon Hts.),
Lauryn Flynn (Warren Grove/Southern Regional) and
Issy Gilhooley (Ocean City/Ocean City), all of whom earned the recognition for the fourth straight year.
Fellow senior
Hannah Wescoat (Upper Deerfield/Cumberland Regional) collected a spot for the first time in her career.
Three juniors to earn spots on the NFHCA National Academic Squad were
Lainie Allegretto (Ocean City/Ocean City),
Kelsey Andrus (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) and
Gianna Morganti (Berlin/St. Joseph's). Andrus earned the distinction for the third straight season while Allegretto and Morganti qualified for the second consecutive year.
Four sophomores,
Isabella Ceraso (Marlton/Cherokee),
Rhian Freire (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek),
Kelly Mollahan (Boonton/Boonton) and
Tori Wilson (Mays Landing/Cedar Creek) also qualified for the honor. Ceraso, Mollahan and Freire snagged spots on the list for the second straight year while Wilson notched her first career honor.
Rounding out the squad were freshmen
Kylie Mitchell (Shamong/Seneca) and
Jenna Fiorito (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) who are the only rookies on the squad this season.
Stockton has played one game during the abbreviated season that is taking place this spring. The Ospreys are scheduled to play four conference games in the next two weeks, followed by the NJAC Tournament in early April.
