Tennessee students are breaking state ACT records.
The Tennessee Department of Education announced Wednesday that students broke records for highest-ever ACT score and participation rate.
According to TDOE, students scored an average composite score of 20.2 on the ACT. 2017’s average composite score was 20.1.
The department also said that more than 2,000 additional students took the test in 2018, which brings the state’s participation rate to 97 percent, which is also a record high.
