Gaby Ojeda (Galloway/Absegami) and freshmen
Michelle Pascrell (Howell/Freehold Twp.) and
Casey Shultz (Sewell/Washington twp.) were voted NJAC Honorable Mention in women's lacrosse. The trio helped Stockton set new school records for goals (228), points (303) and draw controls (216) on the way to a 9-7 record this season.
Ojeda capped her brilliant career with her second straight all-conference nod. The senior was an NJAC First Team selection a year ago. Ojeda finished fourth on the team in goals (26) and points (30) and also contributed 22 ground balls, 16 draw controls and eight caused turnovers. She scored eight of her goals on free position shots, tying for ninth in the NJAC.
Ojeda leaves Stockton after helping the team to a 42-27 mark in her four seasons, plus the 2018 ECAC title, the first postseason championship for the Ospreys. She also became the school's leading goal scorer with 76 career tallies and ranks third in points (85) and sixth in draw controls (46).
Pascrell was tremendous in her first season at Stockton, tying the school record with 51 goals, which ranks fourth in the NJAC. The freshman dished 10 assists and totaled 61 points, good for sixth in the league and the third-highest season total in the program's six years. Pascrell scooped a team-high 42 ground balls, fifth in the league and tied for the third-best total ever at Stockton.
Pascrell also led the team with 28 caused turnovers (4th in NJAC) to break the record of 27 that was set last season by teammate
Tamara Torales. In addition, the rookie leads the NJAC in shots (8.56 spg) and is fifth in game-winning goals (3). Pascrell was a three-time NJAC Rookie of the Week selection this season.
Shultz had an outstanding rookie season for Stockton with 28 goals and 26 assists for 54 points. The frosh also scooped 17 ground balls, caused eight turnovers and grabbed three draw controls. Shultz was named NJAC Rookie of the week once this year.
Shultz is tied for third in the league in assists and stands 10th in points. In just her first year, she already put her name in the Stockton record book with the second-highest assist total and fifth-best point total for a single season in the program's six-year history.
