Stockton Cruises to 3-0 Sweep of Rutgers-Camden

Camden, N.J. – Stockton University (2-0, 2-0 NJAC) cruised to its second victory in three days since returning to the court, sweeping Rutgers-Camden 3-0. The set scores were 25-8, 25-16, 25-20 in favor of the Ospreys.
 
Haley Green (Springville, Utah/Maple Mountain) spiked 10 kills against just one hitting error in 18 attacks for a .500 hitting percentage on the night. Christie Louer (Clifton/Clifton) equaled Green for match-high honors with 10 kills of her own and led all players with five aces.
 
Emily Sullivan (Bridgewater/Bridgewater-Raritan) dealt 34 assists while Sophia Marziello (Haddonfield/Paul VI) paced the back-row defense with 12 digs. Franceska Gustave (Edgewater/Leonia) chipped in with seven kills on eight attacks (.750 hitting percentage) plus three blocks.
 
Green paced the offense with three kills and five of her teammates added two kills apiece in a dominant first set that the Ospreys won 25-8 on the strength of a .500 hitting percentage. The second set was tied 12-12 until Stockton closed with a 13-4 run to win 25-16. Green (five kills) and Louer (four kills) combined for nine of the team's 13 kills in the set.
 
The teams traded points for most of the third set, which was tied 18-18 before Stockton again finished strong, using a 7-2 spurt to close out the match 25-20. Gustave and Louer paced the Ospreys with four kills apiece in the final set.
 
Devyn Cobb and Isabella Choice topped Rutgers-Camden with six kills apiece. Brinn Hassan dished 24 assists for the Scarlet Raptors.
 
Stockton will be on the road again on Tuesday, heading north to face William Paterson in Wayne at 6 p.m.
