Lubrano Already Planning a “Do-Over” of His Senior Year

By Dave Weinberg

Galloway, N.J. - Stockton University basketball player Luciano Lubrano (Ocean City/Ocean City) doesn't want his college career to end like this.

The Ocean City resident is planning on capitalizing on a NCAA ruling that is granting seniors permission to return for another season as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I'm definitely coming back (for the 2021-22 season)," Lubrano said. "Playing only eight games is not enough. I'm going to use this season to get better and stronger for next season."

Lubrano, a 6-foot-4 guard, is entering his second season with the Ospreys. He joined the team last year after spending one year apiece at Rowan College-Gloucester County and Cumberland County College. Last season, he appeared in 25 games for the Ospreys, including 18 starts, and averaged 5.2 points and three rebounds per game.

"This year is going to be a great opportunity for us to get better as a team," Lubrano said. "It's especially good for the younger guys to get some experience. I'm just happy and thankful we get to play."

Lubrano started each of Stockton’s first two games, which were against The College of New Jersey on February 5-6. He averaged 13 points and eight rebounds per game, highlighted by a 15-point, 11-rebound effort on Saturday for his first double-double in an Osprey uniform.
