Student advising, tutoring and other academic services are now available to all SUNY New Paltz students at the Center for Student Success.
The Center uses proven, peer-to-peer models to promote student learning, persistence, engagement and timely degree completion in all academic programs, while also making use of communication tools like Starfish to keep faculty, advisors and students connected.
All Center for Student Success services are being offered remotely through Blackboard Collaborate this fall.

Our trained peer leaders are here to help you take charge of your semester with these services:
Peer AdvisorsÂ
One-on-one sessions with a Peer Advisor help you sharpen your time management skills, identify your learning style, discover new study strategies and create SMART goals to help you make the most of your semester. They can also help you understand academic policies and prepare for academic advising meetings.
Peer Writing Consultants
Sign up for a one-on-one session with a Peer Writing Consultant and develop writing strategies you can use all semester long.
Peer Tutors and STAR-NY Online Tutoring
The Center for Student Success Tutoring Services provide peer-to-peer support in many historically challenging subjects.
In addition, STAR-NY online tutoring is offered in an array of introductory and lower-division courses, available Sunday – Thursday from 7 p.m. until midnight.
