Department of Theater

Creating the best theater program possible requires responsiveness to both need and opportunity.

Sometimes, it means we buy a new computer dedicated to scenic projection, a growing field. It might also mean bringing in a professional to lead a workshop about podcasting so that students can learn to deploy theater skills in a new arena while theaters are shut down. At other times, it means welcoming back a renowned directing alumna to helm a season production, giving our students the opportunity to work with a creative leader in American theater as they return to in-person production.

We appreciate every gift we receive from our generous donors, because each one allows us to provide items such as the ones above — to offer state-of-the-art theater programming and enrichment that helps our talented, dedicated theater-makers build rewarding careers and creative lives.

Please consider a gift to the Department of Theater so that we can continue to respond to the circumstances that arise in a way that best serves our community of up-and-coming theater artists.
