Peter Marks: Prioritizing Better Communication And Faster Product Reviews

Source: Life Science Leader

By Ben Comer, Chief Editor, Life Science Leader

Peter Marks, director of the Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research (CBER) at the FDA since 2016, is an animated speaker exuding an obvious enthusiasm for the job he holds as chief regulator of three key product areas: vaccines, cell and gene therapies, and blood-related products. Marks was instrumental in the establishment and success of Operation Warp Speed’s COVID-19 vaccine development and scale-up assistance, and remains focused on what he says is the FDA and drug industry’s shared mission: to work as quickly as possible to get patients new drugs and medical advances proven to alleviate their suffering.
