Did you know that recycling is the LAW in California?  Schools are required to recycle mixed paper (most types), cardboard, rigid plastic, glass bottles and jars, and metal containers to be in compliance.  Read more>>

2023-24 Recycling Challenge Winners Announced!

Congratulations to the 2023-24 SDUSD Recycling Challenge Winners! These schools diverted significant amounts of material from landfill disposal and demonstrated exceptional efforts to promote, educate, and participate in campus sustainability efforts. 

HIGH SCHOOL CATEGORY:

1st Place:  Henry High

Runner-Up: University City High

MIDDLE SCHOOL CATEGORY:

1st Place:  Challenger Middle

Runner-Up:  Wilson Middle

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CATEGORY:

1st Place:  Sandburg Elementary

Runner-Up:  Marvin Elementary

MOST IMPROVED CATEGORY:

Fletcher Elementary
