Maintaining the Relevance of the Uniform CPA Examination® – Aligning the Exam with the CPA Evolution Licensure Model

The Exposure Draft (ED), Maintaining the Relevance of the Uniform CPA Examination® - Aligning the Exam with the CPA Evolution Licensure Model, presents an informed and thoughtful proposal for the 2024 CPA Exam. Interested parties may comment on the ED by sending responses to practiceanalysis@aicpa.org no later than September 30, 2022.

This ED, including the draft Uniform CPA Examination Blueprints (the CPA Exam Blueprints) in Appendix A, presents the findings and conclusions of a Practice Analysis (PA) conducted by the AICPA under the oversight of the BOE and its Practice Analysis Sponsor Group. The PA focused on aligning the CPA Exam to the CPA Evolution licensure model. See further discussion under the PA Process section in Appendix B.

After considering all comments, the final CPA Exam Blueprints should be approved in December 2022 and published in January 2023, with a planned Exam launch in January 2024. This schedule provides stakeholders about a year to plan for the 2024 CPA Exam as described in the draft CPA Exam Blueprints in Appendix A.
