dB Control Awarded $2M TWT Amplifier Contract to Power SAR Systems That Capture High-Res Images from 70k Ft. Above Sea Level

Defense Manufacturer Partners with Major Contractor to Provide High-Power TWTAs for US Air Force Unmanned Platforms

Fremont, Calif. – May 27, 2020 – dB Control was awarded a $2 million TWT amplifier (TWTA) contract from a major US defense contractor. The TWTAs will enable airborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems to provide high-resolution images from up to 70,000 feet above sea level. SAR systems can capture these images even through clouds, rain, dust, smoke and fog. The detailed images are critical for remote military operations. dB Control’s TWTAs will be used on medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) and high-altitude long-endurance (HALE) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Each high-power TWTA will be designed, manufactured and tested at dB Control’s 40,000 sq. ft. facility.

Exact details of the contract are classified. Defense contractors and original equipment manufacturers can email dB Control to get more information about product capabilities and customization.
