Open Call for Exhibitions

GALLERY 2024

This open call invites artists, organizers, curators, and collaborators to propose exhibitions for Waterloo Arts Gallery’s 2024 schedule. Upon review and acceptance, applicants will be assigned one of the following exhibition dates:

Friday, Feb 2 – Saturday, March 23

Friday, April 5 – Saturday, May 18

Friday,  June 7 – Saturday, July 20

Friday, Aug 2 – Saturday, Sept 14

Friday, Oct 4 – Saturday, Nov 16

ABOUT:
Waterloo Arts (15605 Waterloo Road) hosts 7-8 exhibitions in its main gallery per year, with a limited number of shows originating from the organization’s larger programming objectives and seasonal thematic interests.

SELECTION:
Exhibitions at Waterloo Arts Gallery are selected by a volunteer committee of local artists, arts educators, and emerging curators. The Gallery Committee prioritizes exhibition proposals that feature artworks or creative projects that have not been formally exhibited.

The selected artist(s) will be asked to do a short artist talk or walk-through during the opening event and we welcome proposals for other artist led programming throughout the exhibition. Artists are also encouraged to attend the second Walk All Over Waterloo on the first Friday of the month following the opening reception, but not required.

DEADLINE: November 27, 2023 by 11:59pm.

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance or denial by December 16, 2023.
For additional information about the gallery and what to expect as an exhibiting artist, please direct your questions/concerns to info@waterlooarts.org. Thank you!
