What is the YoungLives Childcare Camp Church Collaboration?
The YoungLives Childcare Camp Church Collaboration is a vital part of our Inspiring a Volunteer Movement. It is designed to foster partnerships between Young Life areas and local church communities by providing volunteer opportunities at YoungLives camps. Through this collaboration, church volunteers can serve as childcare volunteers during camp weeks, creating a supportive environment for young parents attending the camp.
What’s the benefit?
For Young Life areas — By inviting a church group to volunteer as childcare, you can introduce a new group of people to Young Life, potentially building/increasing the leader, volunteer, and donor base for an established area or a new start-up area.
For churches — Participating in this initiative offers churches the unique opportunity to engage congregants in meaningful service, supporting teen parents and their children directly. Volunteers experience personal growth and spiritual enrichment, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose both within their church and with the broader Young Life family. Churches also strengthen their outreach and mission impact by connecting with a diverse group of young families and other volunteers from different backgrounds.
YoungLives areas — By inviting a church group to volunteer as childcare, you can introduce a new group, even current Young Life supporters, to YoungLives and its mission. This also potentially builds/increases the leader, volunteer, and donor base for an established area or a new start-up area. We have seen churches send volunteers to camp who have returned home to their churches and communities to start ministry to teen parents with YoungLives.
