Old Crow Medicine Show, Brandi Carlile Plot Joint Tour
Old Crow Medicine Show and Brandi Carlile have announced they will spend spring and summer 2016 on a co-headlining tour of the United States. The 16-date tour gets underway with an April 30th show at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre and includes stops at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, as well as the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
While the powerful singer-songwriter and lively string band are expected to collaborate nightly on a handful of songs, they’re already celebrating one another’s music. Prior to the tour announcement, Old Crow Medicine Show released a freewheeling cover of Carlile’s “Alibi” (from the 2015 album The Firewatcher’s Daughter) with singer Ketch Secor challenging their future tourmate to cover one of his band’s songs. Carlile responded with a reverent interpretation of OCMS’ “Sweet Home,” which originally appeared on the band’s 2014 album Remedy.
“Those boys don’t put on a show, they throw a party!” says Carlile in a release. “That’s the way I want to spend my summer — throwing a party for our crowd with all my buddies.”
