Joyner Chosen as Student Intern of Leadership Society


The University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy is proud to share that Leigh Joyner, Class of 2022, has been named as the new student intern for the national office of Phi Lambda Sigma, the Pharmacy Leadership Society.

Joyner is the current chapter president of the Zeta Chapter of Phi Lambda Sigma and also serves as a South Carolina Pharmacy Association Junior Board Member.  She is involved in Omicron Delta Kappa, Student National Pharmaceutical Association, Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity, Pediatric Pharmacy Association and Student Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists.

Leigh is going to bring so much to the National Office and help us to better connect with our members and chapters. Her previous experiences are going to help us continue to meet our mission of promoting and developing leaders within the pharmacy profession.

Phi Lambda Sigma Executive Director Brandon Jennings, Pharm.D., commented, “Leigh is going to bring so much to the National Office and help us to better connect with our members and chapters. Her previous experiences are going to help us continue to meet our mission of promoting and developing leaders within the pharmacy profession.” Jennings expressed that Leigh’s interest in social media, online communications and marketing will be a welcomed addition to the National Executive Committee.

Joyner is honored and excited to have been chosen for this role. "As the Phi Lambda Sigma Student Intern, I will work to improve organizational communication and social media engagement, along with fulfilling the responsibilities of an organizational staff member,” she says. “I am incredibly honored to work alongside Phi Lambda Sigma's executive team to serve this organization of pharmacy leaders."

Phi Lambda Sigma was established in 1965 to develop leadership qualities among pharmacy students and pharmacists and to recognize leaders in the profession.
