Kathy Schrock provides rubrics, example screencasts, and long lists of screencasting tools organized by computer types and OS. We highly recommend this is an excellent place to start your search for all things screencasting.
This highly regarded tool runs on Mac and Windows computers. If added to the Chrome browser as an extension, it allows saving videos directly to Google Drive. Offers free, deluxe, and premier levels with a wide array of tools. Also has a new IOS App for mobile recording.
Considered by many to be the best Chrome screencasting extension, Screencastify offers a free Lite version and a modestly priced ($2/month) Premium account. Combine your webcam feed into your screencast. Tab, whole screen, or webcam video can be autosaved to Google Drive or uploaded to YouTube.
