Barbara Mandrell celebrates her 50th Opry anniversary on SiriusXM

Inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1972, Babara Mandrell celebrates her anniversary with three specials at Willie’s Roadhouse and on Prime Country.

Country Music Hall of Fame member Barbara Mandrell returns to the stage where she made her final performance in 1997, when the Grand Ole Opry celebrates her 50th anniversary with two star-studded shows on July 30.

The iconic entertainer’s golden Opry anniversary will air at Willie’s Roadhouse (Ch. 59) beginning at 9pm ET. Guest artists honoring Mandrell will include fellow Opry members Carrie Underwood and Mandy Barnett, along with Suzy Bogguss, Linda Davis, Cece Winans and more.

In anticipation of the Opry appearance, Mandrell will also host a two-hour Opry House Guest DJ special premiering on July 27 at Willie’s Roadhouse, telling stories about songs and artists that have personal significance and impacted her career.

She will also appear as a guest on upcoming episode of the T.G. Sheppard Show on Prime Country (Ch. 58), premiering August 5.

Inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry on July 29, 1972, Mandrell has had numerous chart hits and won multiple CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year awards, as well as hosting a network TV variety show with her sisters Louise and Irlene. She was inducted into the Country Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1998, the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2009, became the first woman to become a member of the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame in 2009, and joined the Musician’s Hall of Fame in 2014.
