Session Summary: How is it that your life is so “perfectly” put together, and your wardrobe is a disaster? The word “disaster” may sound extreme, but if you think back to those mornings standing in front of your closet (in your underwear) before a big meeting with no clue what to wear, the word disaster suddenly feels appropriate. Or perhaps you experienced a time where you were treated like someone’s assistant or got left out of an important business meeting. You may not want to admit it (but on some level know it) – your appearance was likely to blame.

So get ready to look better, feel better, and to finally end your style struggle. Say goodbye to closet meltdowns and wasted money buying items that do not serve you. Get ready to look like the person you know you are inside.

The success of her blog opened many doors including a job as Director of Content and Community at Thisnext.com. In spite of all of her online success, Lauren wanted nothing more than to break away from her desk job to style “real” people.

Lauren’s career in styling began  at School of Style when she completed the program in 2009. Following her completion of School of Style’s courses, Lauren went on to apprentice under some of Hollywood’s top stylists, and was trained and certified by Stacy London from TLC’s What Not to Wear.

I was born in Calgary, Alberta and completed an undergrad degree in Sociology, in Entrepreneurship, and in Marketing. My first business was started when I was 4. A man came to our door selling pictures for $10 a piece, I told my Mom that I could do that too and drew over 50 different pictures that I then went out and sold door-to-door. It was a great lesson in market forces as I opened my sale price at $10, and soon realized that the market price for my product was more realistically 5 cents. Since that day I have started numerous businesses from window washing to a full scale publication. Most failed miserably, but I just keep going. The road to success… right?

Christina Harbridge
Topic: Swaying Humans: Increase Influence With One Deliberate Practice

Session Summary: In this session, Christina will share how to dramatically increase one’s influence by tapping into the complexities of human behaviors and relationships. She’ll tell us how to hack listening and influence to help increase results.

Speaker Biography: Christina Harbridge is the Founder and Mischief Executive Officer of Allegory Inc., a San Francisco-based behavioral change company focused on helping individuals–such as politicians, CEOS, TED speakers–and corporate teams dramatically increase their influence and leadership effectiveness. Human behavior is based on our physiology and an individual’s operating system, thus Christina has come up with ways to hack listening and influence.

Early in her career, Christina Harbridge founded a debt collection company based on one key and unusual principle: The Human Relationship is the True Currency. Her collectors focused on creating an empathetic relationship with debtors rather than on demands for payment. This unusual approach resulted in three times the industry average in successful results for her collectors, and even an occasional wedding invitation. For four years in a row, her company made the Top 100 Fastest-Growing Businesses in the Bay Area list. How people feel about themselves around an influencer dictates commitment vs. compliance, yet many influencers hiccup on that piece due to physiology and emotion.

As Christina grew this company, her curiosity about human dynamics led her to: become a test subject for NASA, a welder of large public art pieces, a founding board member/trainer for Emerge America and a facilitator for those who were parenting in high-risk situations. All this weirdness has resulted in some models that demystify human behavior. Or something.

Topic: We are Builders!

While in high-school I started Golden Gear – creating high-end, luxury boxing equipment. I successfully grew Golden Gear to six figure revenue, international distribution and created custom fight equipment for some really cool people. In 2015, I led Golden Gear to a successful acquisition.

While in college I helped co-found Diamond MMA – the worlds most protective athletic cup. I helped grow sales to high six-figure revenue without sponsoring a single athlete. Today we outfit the majority of the UFC fighters and the business is still growing strong.

As a result of my entrepreneurial efforts, I have been featured in Inc Magazine, Success Magazine, represented the USA in an international business competition, and collectively won over $50k from business competitions.

After a short stint with one of the hottest tech startups in NYC, Troops, I was let go!
