Presented by Rosemary Beach Foundation, Music in Pictures is an educational arts initiative and juried art exhibition open to students in grade K-12 in the Walton County school system – both public and private.
Created in collaboration with professional musicians and university faculty, Music in Pictures encourages lifelong appreciation of symphonic music, enhances learning and provides educational enrichment. During the Fall 2024, students discovered the power of music through interactive classroom presentations and performances by classical musicians.

The Music in Pictures project promotes creativity Over 4,000 Walton County students (Kindergarten – 12th grade) from 21 Walton County schools* created a painting of their interpretation of classical music by Max Richter, a German-born British composer and pianist.​
​
Schools submitted their student paintings for judging and public exhibition. From these entries, the judges selected Judges’ Awards, Chairman’s Awards, and Medalists.

Paintings are on display from February 24 - April 4, 2025, at the following locations:

2024 OUTREACH FELLOWSHIP WITH FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY

The 2024 fellows were recommended and selected by FSU College of Music Faculty.
Under the direction of Dr. Jihye Chang Sung and Dr. Ben Sung, the graduate musicians participated in intensive workshops where they developed methods to engage students and the community in active listening.
​
As part of the 14th Annual Music in Pictures program, the musicians will perform as duos at Walton County schools.
