MURDER IN THE VILLAGE
With a saddened heart we report of a local resident who, on the 16 December 2016 at approximately 4:00am, was stabbed to death.  A house robbery gone wrong resulted in a friend and neighbour losing his life while bravely attempting to fight off the burglars and protect his family..
Our sincere condolences to his family and friends of this brave man.
Cape Town – Steven Otter, the communications and community liaison for Transport for Cape Town, was killed in a house robbery in Harfield Village early on Friday morning. His death was confirmed by an emotional city mayoral committee member Brett Herron.
Western Cape police said a 43-year-old man was killed during "an apparent house robbery" in Claremont. "Further information will be released at a later stage once the preliminary investigation has been concluded," said Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut. It is understood Otter woke up to find men in his Cambridge Street home and died while defending himself and his family.   - News 24, Jenna Etheridge
Steven Otter is also known for living in Khayelitsha for a year while writing his book " Khayelitsha: Umlungu in a Township". Click here to find out more about his book. See the video below where he revisits the township years later.

HOME FOR A FURRY FRIEND - Roxy the Foxy!
This delightful one year old girl is ready for her furr-ever home. She is a husky cross, fun loving, full of life and extremely intelligent who needs daily exercise. Roxy happily entertains herself with toys and chasing bugs in the garden. She adores people and is good with kids but enjoys her  independence as well. She is obedient and walks both on and off a lead beautifully. We think she may chase cats based on her love of birds and squirrels when out on her daily walk. We are however, not entirely sure. She is fully grown, sterilised and ready for the next chapter in her life.If you would like Roxy to join your family, please contact Tamsyn 0824117922 or tamsyn@ripsold.co.za
