IfYoureReadingThis.org is one of many great resources available to Duke University students. Below we’ve provided a brief description of a few of these resources, as well as how to access them. While this list is not exhaustive, we hope it is helpful.

COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides clinical services to eligible students.

BULL CITY COUNSELING

Bull City Counseling is a therapy practice in Durham with many different clinicians to choose from, Bull City Counseling’s specialities include but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, stress management, disordered eating, and body image issues. Bull City Counseling also offers online therapy for students who prefer a virtual format.

BLUE DEVILS CARE

Blue Devils Care is a free online teletherapy service offered to all full and part time degree seeking students at Duke University. Students can receive up to 12 individual teletherapy sessions per year. Also, students have access to the “TalkNow” service where they can receive on-demand support from a professional 24/7.  Through the app “TimelyCare” students also have access to digital self-care content including: guided meditations, yoga classes, and mental health speakers.

TRIANGLE SPRINGS

Triangle Springs provides emergency, inpatient, and outpatient programs as well as many substance abuse rehabilitation services. Triangle Springs specialties include but are not limited to: anxiety, depression, addiction, and PTSD. The Access and Intake process begins with a simple phone call. Walk Ins are also welcome.

LGBTQ CENTER OF DURHAM

The LGBTQ+ Center of Durham mission is to create a community where all LGBTQ+ lived experiences are affirmed, supported, and celebrated. The Center provides LGBTQ+ people with support networks, services, and programming to help improve their wellbeing so that they can thrive in their community.

DURHAM CRISIS RESPONSE CENTER

The Durham Crisis Response Center (DCRC) provides a wide range of shelter and support services to survivors of domestic, sexual and family violence and human trafficking in the Durham community. DCRC does not charge clients for any of its services.
