Thank you for applying for the Associate Justice position! As an Associate Justice, you will play an integral role on the Judiciary Branch of Duke Student Government, which has the vital function of maintaining due process and protecting student rights. The Judiciary resolves conflict through investigation and hearing cases while having the power to subpoena evidence and witnesses, decide cases, discipline student groups , and issue advisory opinions. The Judiciary's purview extends over many different groups, including not only student groups, but every branch of DSG and line monitors.
The Judiciary has 2 vacancies for the position of Associate Justice in this application cycle. As per the bylaws linked below, this position is open to any undergraduate student, with "preference given to any applicants
currently serving as clerks of the Judiciary." For any applicants who are not selected, there will be an opportunity in the fall to apply to be a clerk of the Judiciary.
This application will be due on 3/2/22 at 11:59 PM EST. Interviews will be conducted that following weekend, from Saturday 3/4 - Monday 3/6.
