CONGRESS RETURNS TO THE HILL THIS WEEK
Congress returned to the Hill this week after the holiday break. When we left off last year, both the House and Senate passed, and President Biden subsequently signed into law, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for FY 2024. The $886 billion authorizes fiscal year appropriations for the Department of Defense, Department of Energy national security programs, Department of State and the Intelligence Community. In addition, just two weeks remain in the first continued resolution (CR) that was passed to avoid a government shutdown. The second CR is set to run out on February 2nd.
