The Cecilia Hogan Award in Prospect Development

The Cecilia Hogan Award in Prospect Development acknowledges outstanding effort or achievement in prospect development, including special projects, articles in development-related publications, or other efforts that promote or assist others in the field. The award also recognizes exceptional effort or achievement that has served the mission of the nominee's organization.

Cecilia Hogan earned her bachelor's degree from University of Waterloo. She began her career at the University of Puget Sound (UPS) in 1993 as a development researcher in university relations research. In 2008, she became the director of university relations research, a position she held for ten years until retiring in 2018. Cecilia led and grew the prospect research shop at UPS from its infancy to a place of prominence. In 2003, she wrote the seminal book, "Prospect Research: A Primer for Growing Nonprofits," that many of us have read and continue to use to train new researchers. Cecilia is a national presenter, accomplished scholar, published author, an amazing researcher, and a mentor and friend to many in this industry.

The award includes a yearlong Apra-NW membership and free admission to the Apra-NW regional conference. All current Apra-NW members are eligible, and the board will select and announce the winner prior to the chapter's annual conference.
