ABOUT US

Located on picturesque Sauvie Island, Columbia Farms U-Pick was planted in the early 1990s. We started with one acre of strawberries and now offer more than fifteen different types of berries, covering over eighty acres. We also have peonies, pumpkins and all types of fall décor items.

Our family strives to keep the true essence of a working farm for our visitors. Everyone is welcome to pick berries and enjoy the scenery. We hope to see you soon!

 FAQs

  • NOPE. Animals are not allowed on our farm. This rule exists to keep our berry fields clean and safe for consumption.

  • No. We don’t feel the need for a third party certificate to know that what we grow is nutritious, safe to eat, and delicious. Please check our Sustainable Farming page for more information.

  • Please check our Sustainable Farming page for more information.

  • Gosh - we wish we could give you a definitive answer! Strawberries are usually ready around the first part of June - however this can change depending on the spring weather.

  • We close at noon during heat waves. Be sure to check our instagram page for any recent updates.

  • Starting in 2024, we are no longer reserving pre-picked berries in our cooler. We understand that this is probably disappointing to some of our customers but this is what works best for our family. Thank you for helping us honor that. We are committed to still offering pre-picked berries when the season allows. Please keep in mind that it is our goal every day to sell out of pre-picked berries, so plan to come around 10am for your best shot at finding pre-picked fruit.

  • No, you do not need a reservation to pick berries during regular business hours. Please keep in mind that access to our u-pick fields ends 30 minutes prior to our closing time.

  • No, unfortunately our farm and buildings are not available for rent. If you are looking for a space on Sauvie Island, the Bybee Howell Park is a pretty location. For more information, click here.

  • We are happy to provide clean, brand new boxes for free at our farm. If you wish to use your own, standard-size flat with green pint boxes from previous years on our farm, you may do so. Please note that we do not weigh any berries, so all fruit must be picked into pint boxes.

  • At our peony self-serve station, we accept cash and Venmo. When our market opens for berry season, we accept cash, check, all major credit cards, and Farm Direct Vouchers.

  • All of those sound like fun! However, we pride ourselves in offering a quiet, quaint, working-farm experience for our customers. We do not offer any festival-esque activities, but there are plenty of other farms on Sauvie Island that do.

  • Sauvie Island is full of fun activities for the entire family. Please check out the island's website for more information.

  • Although we've never been, the clothing optional beach (Collins Beach) is located past Reeder Beach, after Reeder Rd. becomes gravel.
