Mother kills her 2 young children, own mother in tragic murder/suicide, police say

Galina Tenzeyevna Taypina, 68, has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner as the mother killed by her daughter on April 27.

The father of two small children makes a horrific discovery at an apartment complex on the North Side.

Police were called out around 8:30 a.m. Monday when they were told of multiple dead bodies inside an apartment at the Sedona Ranch Apartments on Henderson Pass near the Regal Northwoods movie theater.

They were alerted of the discovery from the children's father who saw bodies inside the apartment from a crack in the window at the rear of the apartment.

San Antonio Police Chief William McMannus said that when officers entered the apartment, they found the bodies of Karina Kleberovna Sornoza Deitering, 37, her two children (5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy), and her 68-year-old mother in two separate bedrooms.

Police believe Sornoza Deitering shot to death her two children and her mother before turning the gun on herself. Police said Sornoza Deitering had recently lost custody of her two children.

The father of those kids has been trying to make contact with Sornoza Deitering for some time and he was the one to discover the bodies this morning.

The estranged husband told police that Sornoza Deitering had not shown any signs of violence before.

No word on when the shooting actually took place. Police are still investigating.
