In Loving Memory of Aie Kyung Richardson
Aie Kyung Richardson, born on May 18, 1949, in Seoul, South Korea, passed away on December 22, 2023, following a sudden cardiac event. Aie married Robert "Bob" Richardson, on June 1st, 1973. She is survived by her sister Mi Kyung Dong, her two children Kimberly and Benjamin Richardson, and her four grandchildren Kylie, Austyn, Alexa, and Kendyll. Aie was predeceased by her parents Yi Hwan Cho and Gae Hee Hwang, her brothers Suk Yul Cho, Chang Yul, Seung Yul, Jong Yul, and her beloved husband Bob.
Aie’s angelic voice graced many music halls and church sanctuaries. While stationed in Seoul, Bob immediately fell for her when he heard her sing at church. Aie's talent and ambition were remarkable. Her achievements in the arts and academics earned her placement in the prestigious Seoul National University—a notable accomplishment, especially for a woman of her time. Aie majored in music and taught music before moving to the states with Bob.
Her intelligence, discipline, and dedication propelled her to professional success in precision optics, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew her. Aie was a mentor to many, a true source of inspiration and a trusted leader.
A devoted wife, daughter, and mother, Aie's priorities always revolved around providing for her family. She tirelessly cared for her mother during illness and for Bob in his times of declining health. Aie's unwavering dedication ensured her children and grandchildren had the foundation they needed to thrive.
Aie lived a life surrounded by family and close friends who loved and respected her. She enjoyed walking, swimming, and chatting with friends in her community. She was an amazing cook and loved sharing meals and quality time together. Aie's love and beauty will be deeply missed, but her legacy lives on through the lives she touched.
A memorial to celebrate her remarkable life will be held at Becker Funeral Home in Clermont, FL, on January 7th, 2024, at 1 pm.
