Join the CMU Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship for a conversation with CMU alumnus Dr. Hongwen Kang, senior director at the Tencent Platform and Content Group (PCG). Dr. Kang graduated from Carnegie Mellon University under the supervision of professor Takeo Kanade and professor Martial Hebert. After graduation, Dr. Kang started his own company, which tries to apply the most advanced artificial intelligence technology to e-commerce and the content generation space. After building the most advanced online video generation platform, Zen.Video, Dr. Kang sold his company to Tencent in 2020. Now Dr. Kang is helping the company pushing forward its effort in intelligent content generation, in charge of multiple product lines, as well as strategic investment and merge and acquisition. In this talk, Dr. Kang will share his first hand experience in how to build a company from an inception of an idea, go to market and being acquired by a large company.
