Dear Tritons,Ā
We wanted to share important information aboutĀ waitlisting in TSS. View information and instructions on waitlisting.
As you consider waitlisting courses, please review the following important information that is new due to the transition to TSS:
|
|
|
|
-
Waitlists run continuously, instead of just once a day. As soon as a seat becomes available in a course in TSS, the first student on the waitlist is immediately added to the course in real time. When this occurs, the status on the course will change from Waitlisted to Booked once you're in.
-
While on the waitlist, you have two options:
- Drop ā removes you from the waitlist
- Switch ā moves you to another waitlist, or to a section of the same course if it has open seats
-
š©IMPORTANT: As always, waitlist positions are managed by the system and cannot be adjusted by advisors/departments.Ā
-
Be careful when dropping a course! If you accidentally drop a course that has a waitlist, the first person on the waitlist will be immediately moved into the seat you just vacated. You will not be able to get that seat back unless you join the waitlist and wait for your turn to be added to the course, as seats become available.
-
If you need to switch a course section, use the Switch Section option in TSS instead of dropping the course and re-adding. Note that the Switch Section action will release your seat from the course to an individual on the waitlist, if a waitlist for the course exists.
- You can view your waitlisted courses under the My Courses tile on the Student Overview Homepage.Ā
- Booked courses should show āBookedā in blue text
- Waitlisted courses should show āWaitlistedā in brown text
|
Note: As always, the quarter enrollment unit limit includes both Booked and Waitlisted courses. Graduate students may enroll and waitlist in a combined total of up to 20 units initially, and then one week prior to the start of instruction, the enrollment limit will increase to 30 units.
