Meet King Calaway! Country's Newest Boy Band Releases Swoon-Worthy 'World for Two' Music Video

There’s a new boy band in town — King Calaway!

The country group is premiering the new music video for their romantic single, “World for Two,” exclusively with PEOPLE, and released their debut five-song EP on Friday. In the video, the band takes their talents to a picture-perfect Malibu beach and can be seen singing around a bonfire with friends.

“We had the best time shooting this music video!” drummer Chris Deaton tells PEOPLE. “‘World for Two’ is about taking a step back from the hectic world we live in and spending time with someone you love. El Matador was an incredible location for filming and we really love that the organic setting of the beach mirrors the authentic feel of the song.”

King Calaway is comprised of six members — Deaton, Caleb Miller, Simon Dumas, Jordan Harvey, Chad Michael Jervis and Austin Luther — and was put together by Deaton’s father, music-industry veteran and Country Music Association Awards executive producer Robert Deaton. Robert is also serving as the band’s producer and mentor.

The band doesn’t have just one lead singer as Harvey, Jervis and Dumas all share frontman duties, and they are backed with harmonies from Deaton, Miller and Luther.

Each member is a well-rounded musician, from the guitar-playing Miller, who is the youngest member of the band and became a professional studio musician at 13 years old, to Luther, who is a highly trained bassist who has done international shows, cruise ship performances and cross-country tours with major label acts.

Dumas first earned an audience back home in Gibraltar and plays the piano in addition to singing lead vocals. Scottish musician Harvey, who also sings lead vocals, started playing drums after a knee injury killed his dreams of being a soccer star. In 2017, Harvey sang on the UK’s BBC One as a contestant on the singing competition show, Let It Shine, and then packed up his instruments to relocate to Nashville.

Jervis, another one of the band’s lead singers, is a lifelong vocalist who has done theater productions and cross-country gigs, and Nashville native Deaton has played drums for performances at the CMA Awards with artists such as Steven Tyler and Jennifer Nettles.

Their EP sounds like One Direction mixed with Thomas Rhett, and includes original songs like “No Matter What,” “I Do,” and “River,” as well as a cover of Stephen Stills’ 1970 classic, “Love The One You're With.”

“We are over the moon to finally have these new songs out for people to listen to,” Dumas said in a statement. “As a group, all we want is to make a positive influence with our music, and we hope everyone who listens to the record hears that. After months of making this EP the best it could be, we’re thrilled to finally release it.”
