Class registration for Santa Barbara City College’s Spring 2023 semester is now open to everyone in the community. Classes begin Monday, Jan. 23.

SBCC offers classes for credit for students looking to pursue an associate degree or certificate, including those needed to transfer to a four-year university. It also offers a variety of noncredit programs through its School of Extended Learning in areas including English as a Second Language, classes for older adults and career skills building.

Students can choose from classes that are offered in-person, online or in a hybrid format.

The SBCC Board resolution requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination to attend classes or work on campus has been rescinded effective at the end of this year. So, students registering for in-person classes for spring will no longer be required to provide proof of vaccination.

More information on COVID-19 safety protocols are on the Coronavirus Information for the SBCC Community webpage.

Credit students previously enrolled at SBCC part-time or full-time, who stopped attending sometime between Spring 2020 and Spring 2022, are encouraged to attend a Re-enrollment Day event on SBCC’s main campus 2-7 p.m. Jan. 11 at Campus Center on SBCC’s east campus.

The event will offer assistance to students wanting to re-enroll, including on-the-spot class registration and financial aid help; refreshments, and activities for kids will be availble.

As an incentive, students who attend Re-enrollment Day can apply for $500 in bookstore credit to cover books and school supplies when they return to SBCC and enroll for Spring 2023. For more, visit the Re-Enrollment Days webpage.

To ensure entry into their desired classes, students are urged to register as soon as possible at www.sbcc.edu/classes.
