Galloway, NJ –Stockton University collected one postseason award and placed four players on the
NJAC all-conference team in field hockey. Senior
Casey Cordonna (Barrington/Haddon Heights) was voted NJAC Defensive Player of the Year and earned her second consecutive NJAC First Team honor. Cordonna is the first Osprey ever to be chosen NJAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Senior
Lauryn Flynn (Warren Grove/Southern Regional) and junior
Gianna Morganti (Berlin/St. Joseph's) joined Cordonna on the NJAC First Team. Senior
Madison Dancisin (Little Egg Harbor/Pinelands Regional) garnered an NJAC Honorable Mention spot. Flynn, Morganti and Dancisin each received all-conference accolades for the first time.
Cordonna was stellar on defense again this season, with three defensive saves, which led the league. She also potted one goal at the offensive end. Cordonna started every game over the last three seasons and 62 of 63 contests in her four years as an Osprey.
Cordonna totaled four defensive saves in her career and chipped in offensively with 14 goals and three assists for 31 points. Five of her 14 markers were game-winning goals. She is tied for eighth in the program's 18-year history in goals and tied for 10th in points.
Flynn excelled defensively in her third year as a starter, helping Stockton to a 1.80 goals against average. She dished one assist, her first career helper, against William Paterson on April 2. Overall, Flynn played 51 games over the last four seasons and started 40 of them, recording one defensive save and contributing to 18 shutouts with her play on defense.
Morganti scored one goal, a game-winner versus William Paterson on April 2, and dished one assist for three points in five games during the short spring season. She led the team in shots (14) and shots on goal (11). Morganti tied for fourth in the NJAC in shots on goal (2.20/game) and tied for fifth in shots (2.80/game).
The Spring 2021 season was Morganti's second at Stockton. The forward led the Ospreys in goals (11), points (25) and game-winning goals (4) in 2019 after joining the team as a transfer from Rider University. As a freshman, Morganti played in 19 games and started 15 for Rider, totaling one goal and one assist for three points.
In her second year as a starter, Dancisin played four games before missing the last match due to injury. The midfielder managed an average of 2.25 shots per game that ranked seventh in the league. Dancisin dished one assist and helped Stockton finish second in the NJAC in shots (9.00/game) and shots on goal (6.40/game).
Dancisin has played 42 games and started 22 of them in her three years on the Stockton team. She has six goals and three assists for 15 points.
