Opioids play a major role in the struggle with addiction across the nation as well as right here
within our own communities. Currently, the Hudson Valley has the highest rate of opioid addiction in New York State. It is imperative to work together in order to spread awareness of the opioid epidemic as well as provide resources for individuals who need help locally.
Recovery Stories of New York is a project that highlights five individuals in long term recovery from opioid addiction who live in New York State. These stories are featured in five printed zines along with an advice zine, a website, and an Instagram campaign. This project aims to inspire those experiencing opioid addiction to reach out for help, and seeks to end the stigma associated with addiction. We must come together with compassion and empathy to create hope and end this deadly epidemic.
