SOLO Labs Recognized In 2019 Best Places to Work in PA Contest

SOLO team with Best Places to Work Award. This year SOLO Labs has been named one of the Best Places to Work in PA for 2019. The awards program, created in 2000, is one of the first statewide programs of its kind in the country. The program is a public/private partnership between Team Pennsylvania Foundation, the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, the Pennsylvania State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management, and the Central Penn Business Journal.

The program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Pennsylvania, which are benefiting the state’s economy and its workforce. Employers are categorized based upon the total number of employees they have in the United States. SOLO Labs employs approximately 55 people in its Kutztown, PA, manufacturing facility.

Companies from across Pennsylvania entered the two-part process to determine the 100 Best Places to Work in the state. The first part, which is approximately 25% of the score includes evaluating SOLO’s policies, practices, philosophies, systems, and demographics. The second part is an anonymous employee survey to measure employee engagement, work-life balance, career advancement, and salary and benefits. This is approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.

SOLO stands for Serve Others, Love Others, and we believe that treating our employees as family is both our responsibility and our mission,” noted CEO, Lindsay Sokol Szejko. “We believe that hearing their honest feedback is crucial to understanding how employees feel about working at SOLO.”

SOLO Labs manufactures custom orthotics and distributes braces for the podiatry industry. Today, SOLO Labs expanded to the consumer market with SOLO GO, a custom insole available without a prescription.

The second-generation owners are committed to continuing the legacy of our founder, Barry Sokol. This includes providing meaningful and rewarding job opportunities to its employees, which helps SOLO attract and retain high-quality, skilled workers. “Having engaged employees gives us a competitive advantage by consistently providing a high-quality product to our customers,” added Lindsay Sokol Szejko.

SOLO Labs was recognized at the Best Places to Work in PA awards banquet on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at the Lancaster County Convention Center in Lancaster, PA.
