Laura Lesniewski to Receive the AIA Missouri 2021 Distinguished Service Award

BNIM is proud to announce that Principal Laura Lesniewski has been voted to receive the AIA Missouri 2021 Distinguished Service Award this fall. This award recognizes architects who show a strong record of public service and leadership, which can be exhibited in strong contributions and leadership to the American Institute of Architects at any or all levels – local, state or national. For almost three decades, Laura has been a dedicated leader in the architectural and design industry, her community and within BNIM. Her dedication to sustainable and equitable design continues to inspire and motivate our practice to deliver beautiful, integrated living environments that inspire change and enhance the human condition.  

Laura’s impact on architecture and design, both locally and nationally, comes from her passion for equitable design and social justice, community-based design, and creating resiliency in built environments. Through her leadership, published works, teaching initiatives and meaningful dialogues, Laura has helped advance industry knowledge by sharing practice-based research and tools that have advanced the sustainable and equitable design movement.
